Summary Fabric temperatures and rates of drying have been investigated using “infra‐red” heating. Fabrics show two steady temperatures during drying. The lower ocours during the period of the constant drying rate; the higher occurs when the fabrics are dry. The rise, from the lower to the higher temperature occurs at the “critical moisture content”. Critical moisture contents are given for a number o8
