The electrochemical behaviour of metalloporhyrins with 2,6-di-tert-butylphenol pendants 1-6 and 1a-6a was studied in CH 3 CN and their antioxidative activity was evaluated using a reaction with a stable radical 2,2'-diphenyl-1picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) monitored by CVA. Depending on the nature of metalloporhyrins various numbers of reversible or irreversible waves in anodic range of potentials appears which can be attributed to ligand or metal-centered oxidation. It was shown that antioxidative activity of compounds 1-6 and 1a-6a depends strongly on the nature of metal and the presence of palmitoyl moiety in the molecule.
