Abstract

Not long ago a counselor became quite disturbed over the fact that a twelfth-grade girl thought the word 'clerical referred to the word clergy. Using this erroneous interpretation, she had completed an interest inventory with the result that the reliability was questionable. Christensen (3), and Burnham and Crawford (2), found that die, as used in the Kuder Preference Record, can exhibit a significant profile. It behooves the counselor, therefore, to know his counselees and his interest inventories if he desires reliable results.
