A simple ultraviolet spectrophotometric method for the determination of protein.

Abstract

Abstract An ultraviolet spectrophotometric method for the determination of proteins is described. It has advantages over other methods in simplicity, rapidity, accuracy, specificity, and sensitivity. Applications to the determination of total protein and albumin in plasma and to the determination of protein in cerebrospinal fluid and pleural fluid are described. The method is not useful for the determination of protein in urine.
