This study describes the development of a new modelling framework (SIMS-Dairy) comprising nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) and methane (CH4) models connected to ‘score matrices’ for measuring attributes of biodiversity, landscape, product quality, soil quality and animal welfare in a dairy farm. The aim of the framework is to identify a range of site conditional specifications for systems that can comply with the criteria of sustainability.
