Parallel Differentiated Recognition of Ketones and Acetals

Abstract

A new concept for one-pot reactions! Different functional groups in substrates undergo separate reactions simultaneously (depicted schematically below). A practical application is described for the (C6H5)2SnBr2-catalyzed Mukaiyama aldol reaction of ketones and acetals.
