A novel all-optical differential phase-shift keying wavelength converter based on semiconductor optical amplifier nonlinearities is demonstrated in the 25- to 40-Gb/s range with pseudorandom binary sequence of 2 <sup xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">7</sup> -1, and its regenerative properties as well as the cascadability are discussed
