Abstract

Summary Many strains of Clostridium botulinum types A and B and nonhaemolytic food poisoning strains of Cl. welchii were inhibited by 200 μ g, but in general not by 50 μ g, of neomycin/ml in blood agar or Nagler agar. Cl. botulinum type E was particularly sensitive to neomycin, growth being prevented by a concentration of 25 μg/ml of medium.
