Wettability of leaves of a selection of New Zealand plants

Abstract

Abstract The wetting properties of 52 species from forest, scrub, and grasslands were examined in the laboratory and many were observed under different weather conditions in the field. Leaf surface examination with the scanning electron microscope gave information which explained their wettability and water retention in a range of conditions.
