There is an ever increasing demand for low cost, high reliability automotive sensors. The thick film materials are known for their survival, longevity and reliability in harsh environments, extreme temperatures and high mechanical stresses, such as those present in automobile applications. The thick film technology, with its ease of mass production, relatively low cost, availability and established reliability, make it a technology of choice for automotive sensors and other applications. The conventional, state-of-the-art and some advanced thick film automotive sensor applications are rcvicwed.
