Recent developments are reviewed in the computation of motion and structure of objects in a scene from a sequence of images. Two distinct paradigms are highlighted: (i) the feature-based approach and (ii) the optical-flow-based approach. The comparative merits/demerits of these approaches are discussed. The current status of research in these areas is reviewed and future research directions are indicated.< <ETX xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">></ETX>
