This study examines the role of interactivity in the presentation of science news on the World Wide Web. The authors propose and test a model of interactive information processing that suggests a relationship between interactivity, cognitive elaboration, and learning. A think-aloud method was employed to provide insight into study participants' mental processes during Web use.
