Abstract In the presence of a novel chiral catalyst system consisting of tin(II) triflate, a chiral diamine, and tin(II) oxide, highly enantioselective aldol reactions of the silyl enol ether of S-ethyl ethanethioate or S-ethyl propanethioate with aldehydes proceeded smoothly to afford the aldol adducts in high yields.
