CONSTRAINTS ON SIMPLE GEOMETRY IN TWO AND THREE DIMENSIONS

Abstract

We analyse the equations which result from imposing dimensional constraints in a number of simple geometric systems. In practical applications for CAD/CAM we are interested in mixed systems of geometric elements including points, curves and possibly surfuces in two and three dimensions. The properties of the equations which represent the simpler component systems provide considerable insight into the equations which are of practical importance.
