Abstract

These results suggest that activation of GSK-3beta plays a critical role in diabetes-related changes in cardiac energy metabolism, inflammation, nitrosative damage, and remodeling. Metallothionein inactivation of GSK-3beta plays a critical role in preventing diabetic cardiomyopathy.
