Present state-of-the-art computer circuits have signal transition time and propogation delays on the same order of magnitude as the interconnection delay between them. At these speeds it is mandatory that the transmission line properties of the interconnection media be considered. This permits the designer of high-speed digital equipment to include the effects of signal reflection on his system.
