Abstract The C-glycosyl compounds of β-L-xylopyranose and β-D-arabinopyranose were conveniently prepared by reduction of methyl α-D-glucopyranoside and methyl α-D-mannopyranoside with triethylsilane in the presence of trimethylsilyl trifluoromethanesulfonate, respectively.
