Bulk GaAs-AlGaAs true push-pull electrooptic modulators with 5-V-cm V <sub xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">pi</sub> and 35-GHz bandwidth were demonstrated using substrate removal techniques. The traveling wave electrodes showed almost no dispersion, making it ideal for broadband applications.
