Red blood cells may contribute to hypercoagulability in uraemia via enhanced surface exposure of phosphatidylserine

Abstract

Our study suggests that increased PS exposure may cause a pathological erythrocyte procoagulant phenotype, which may be a factor inducing a hypercoagulable state in uraemia.
