The 410 cm-1 line of the IETS spectrum of phenol has been examined at approximately 70 mK. Its lineshape with normal and superconducting electrodes is explained when a natural linewidth of 1.504 meV (12.13 cm-1) is assumed. The results demonstrate the possibility of using IETS for the study of monolayers at a resolution better than 0.1 meV.
