Abstract

The structure of a synthetic iron mica, KFe~+(Fea+Sia)O10(OH)~, determined from visually estimated intensities, shows very slight departure from Pabst's idealized biotite structure. The sextuple cell formerly used to describe micas accounts for the observed twinning.
