IN planning experiments to investigate the physiological and biochemical processes involved in the secretion of milk fat, one of the main objects has been to find whether a relation exists between the lipoids of the blood on the one hand and the fat of the milk on the other. In the course of the work, however, much difficulty has-been experienced in finding some means by which alterations in the nature and level of the blood lipoids could readily be brought about, for in the ruminant these particular constituents change but slightly even over relatively long periods.
