Abstract

Abstract Nitrided 11.7% and 97.1% molybdena‐alumina catalysts have been Investigated using temperature‐programmed reaction with hydrogen (TPR) and diffuse reflectance FTIR connected to a mass spectrometer with the aid of XRD analysis. From the TPR and XRD analyses, y ‐Mo 2 N was formed on the surface of the 11.7% and 97.1% Mo/Al 2 O 3 nitrided at 700 ° C. On the basis of the NH 3 ‐TPD and IR spectroscopies, much more Lewis acid sites than Brønsted acid sites are present on the surface of the nitrided molybdena‐alumina.
