A model for the time behaviour of the internal bias field determined by dipole orientation of the transition metaloxygen vacancy type is presented. The measurements of a coarse grained BaTiO3 ceramic doped with 0.5 mol% Cr (grain size about 50μm, density 96%) show that the computer calculations describe satisfactorily the observed build up of the internal bias field vs, time and temperature, as well as the “hysteresis relaxation”,1 i.e. the reduction of the internal bias field by an ac-treatment.
