Abstract

The reasons for joining two Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRCs) have stayed relatively constant over the last 15 years. Cited most often were access to services and protection for a spouse. Recent joiners, however, have more concerns about the lifestyle and locational issues related to moving to a CCRC. These findings have implications regarding the attractiveness and desirablity of programs that combine the finance and delivery of long term care services for the elderly.
