About

Community engagement is a systematic process of working collaboratively with and through groups of people affiliated by geographic proximity, special interest, or similar situations to address issues affecting their well-being. As a research concept and methodological approach, it investigates the dynamics of interaction, power relations, and knowledge co-creation between academic institutions or researchers and non-academic communities, emphasizing reciprocal relationships, shared decision-making, and the integration of diverse perspectives to enhance the relevance, applicability, and ethical conduct of research while fostering mutual benefit and capacity building.
