Abstract

deal with a deficiency disease resembling scurvy in chicks which cannot be prevented by ascorbic acid and the cause of which is ascribed to the lack of a particular antihaemorrhagic factor (or factors) in the diet. Sch6nheyder [1935] has shown that there is an enormous retardation of the clotting of the blood of chicks suffering from this haemorrhagic diathesis.
