N-Protected amino-acid active esters react readily with polystyrenesulphonamide yielding, after deprotection, the poly(aminoacylsulphonamides): these polymers are suitable for solid phase peptide synthesis, the completed peptide being cleaved from the resin by methylation and hydrolysis or aminolysis.
