Autonomy and authority in the resolution of sibling disputes

Abstract

Three models of family intervention process frame this investigation of children's autonomy and parents' authority in the resolution of sibling conflicts. These issues are explored with observations of parents' interventions in 2,400 sibling disputes between children aged two, four, and six.
