Abstract

The selective action of laser is attractive for nonthermal stimulation of chemical reactions. Of special concern is the use of infrared lasers with wavelengths coinciding with the vibrational frequency of many molecules. The possibility of chemical reactions induced by CO2-laser light is exemplified by the case of BCl3 molecules.
