Perovskite manganite BaMnO3 nanorods have been synthesized by using a composite- hydroxide-mediated method. Gas sensitivity has been investigated on the BaMnO3 nanorods under different concentrations of O2 and different temperatures. The temperature dependent conductance of the BaMnO3 nanorod in O2 atmosphere indicates a n-type semiconductive property. Ultrasensitivity to O2 has been obtained at lower working temperatures, and distinctive sensitivity at different working temperatures is observed. These results highlight that the nanorods might be adopted for development of gas sensors with performances suitable for practical applications.
