Abstract In order to check the possibility of labeling sub‐libraries, we synthesized a colored support by acylation of aminomethyl resin with a special Boc‐amino acid (a red azo dye). Syntheses of model peptides proved that the colored resin is suitable for solid phase peptide synthesis. Color labeling was also made by coupling resin‐bound peptides at their N‐termini with a blue dye. Colored resins as well as labeling at the N‐terminus offer a possibility to simplify the preparation of support‐bound peptide sub‐library kits and their use in sequence determination of bioactive peptides. © 1994 Wiley‐Less, Inc.
