Distorted-wave approximations for the triple-differential cross section for ionisation of helium by electron impact

A distorted-wave model is developed, for the ionisation of helium by electron impact at intermediate energies, which takes into account polarisation and absorption in the initial state. The triple-differential cross sections are calculated in the energy range 80-250 eV and the results are compared with experimental data.
