Immunofixation Electrophoresis: A Technique for the Study of Protein Polymorphism¹

Abstract

Summary. A technique is described which allows direct visualization of individual proteins in mixtures by specific antiserum after electrophoresis. By minimizing diffusion, it permits rapid, direct, and clear detection of genetic polymorphism and ‘conversion’ of proteins in the complement and coagulation systems.
