Kinetic resolution of 2-furylcarbinols employlng 10 mol % of ~i(0'Fr)~ in the presence of molecular sleves 3A under the Sharpless oxldatlon condition generally affords corresponding optically actlve 2-furylcarbinols in a range of 80-988 e e .
