Abstract

Synopsis Protein and oil content of grain was found to decrease with higher plant populations and lower N levels. Of yield components, ears per 100 plants was influenced most by varying populations and fertility levels. The 9 single‐cross hybrids tested showed different yield responses to N levels and populations.
