In order to overcome the divergence of the Newton-Raphson iteration in the nonlinear magnetic field analysis, a relaxation factor is introduced and its optimum value is examined. It is shown that the modified Newton-Raphson method proposed exhibits quick and successful convergence even in the case when the conventional Newton-Raphson method fails in convergence.< <ETX xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">></ETX>
