Techniques of spectroscopic observations in the range from 2000 Å to 10 Å are reviewed with emphasis on precise wavelength measurements. The topics discussed include the design of spectrographs for photographic recording, light sources for atomic line spectra, the evaluation of spectrograms, and wave-length standards. There are appended a condensed identification list of atomic lines below 2000 Å of the elements H, He, C, N, O, Ne, Na, Al, Si and Ar, in various stages of ionization, and lists of wavelength standards.
