Abstract Lipstatin ( 1 ), a natural product, and tetrahydrolipstatin ( 2 ) are pancreatic lipase inhibitors. Non‐stereoselective and partially stereoselective syntheses of 2 are used to establish the absolute configuration of tetrahydrolipstatin and lipstatin.
