Abstract

[corrected] Our study shows that CD8 T cells of HIV-infected children have a more senescent phenotype when compared with age-matched healthy children. Interestingly enough, our results support the importance of maintaining undetectable viral load in HIV-infected children to avoid the premature ageing and dysfunction of CD8 T cells.
