A Mössbauer Study of the Effects of the Substitution of Fe by Cr in SrFe12O19

Abstract

The study of the preferential substitution of Fe by Cr in the series SrFe12−xCrxO19 allows an unambiguous attribution of the hyperfine parameters of the Mössbauer spectra to the five crystallographic sites of the structure. The evolution of the crystalline parameters and of the magnetic properties as a function of Cr content is also described. En étudiant la substitution préférentielle du Fe par le Cr dans la série SrFe12-xCrxO19. nous avons pu attribuer sans ambiguité les paramètres hyperfins des spectres Mössbauer aux cing sites cristallographiques de la structure. Nous décrivons aussi l'évolution des paramètres cristallins et des propriétés magnétiques en fonction du contenu en Cr.
