Smartphone use during inpatient attending rounds: Prevalence, patterns and potential for distraction

Abstract

Smartphone use during attending rounds is prevalent and can distract users during important information transfer. Attendings strongly favored the institution of formal policies governing appropriate smartphone use during inpatient rounds.
