Coherent Scattering of Hot Electrons in Gold Films

Abstract

The spatial distribution of hot electrons passing through the top gold electrode of a thin-film, cold-cathode emitter have been investigated. It is concluded that the electrons have undergone coherent scattering in the gold electrode.
