Recent advances in haematology clearly indicate that nutrition may play an important part in the production of anaemia. The evidence OI1 which this statement is based is obtained from experimental work on animals and from clinical investigations in human beings. Thus Waddell, Hart, Steeinbock, and Elvehjeml have showni thatX when rats are fed for some weeks on milk alone a hypochromic anaemia invariably develops, while the rate of growth of the animals is-seriously reduced. -.So
