Abstract A neutron topography system equipped with a multiple-screen detection system has been used to obtain good resolution topographs of Pendellösung fringes in a perfect silicon wedge and individual dislocation images in a synthetic quartz crystal. Vanishing of dislocation contrast has been observed with diffraction vectors satisfying the usual extinction criterion.
