The purpose of this work is to propose a powerful optical diagnostic tool for evaluating the rotational and vibrational temperatures of a nonequilibrium N2 plasma. Using a two-dimensional detection set-up for emission spectroscopy and the construction of synthetic spectra of the second positive system and the first negative system of nitrogen emission, temperature evaluation was performed by comparing experimental and simulated spectra.
