Steam Volatiles of the Fruits of<i>Prangos bornmuelleri</i>Hub.-Mor. et Reese

Abstract

Abstract Crushed fruits of Prangos bornmuelleri, endemic in Turkey, were subjected to simultaneous distillation-extraction using Likens-Nickerson Apparatus with dichloromethane. The steam volatiles were analyzed by GC/MS. Fifteen compounds were identified representing 98.9% of the total components detected with germacrene D-4-ol (42.8%), α-cadinol (18.5%) and δ-cadinene (10.9%) as major constituents.
