An instrument is described for the photographic recording of spectra down to 5 Å. A 600 line per mm blazed grating is used and the instrument can be set to angles of incidence of 86°, 88° or 89°. Plates are cassette loaded. Spectra have been recorded from an x-ray tube, a 45 kJ theta-pinch and a carbon vacuum spark. An attachment is provided to convert the instrument for photoelectric recording.
