Abstract The essential oil obtained from the leaves of Stachys lanata Jacq was examined by GC and GC/MS. Thirty-four compounds were characterized representing of the total components detected. The major components were α-thujone (25.9%), α-humulene (24.9%), β-caryophyllene (12.6%) and viridiflorol (10.5%).
