This study empirically investigates the choice factors used by local organizations in selecting a conference facility for meetings and/or events. The sample consisted of 105 local organizations that belong to a regional chamber of commerce in Central Virginia. Of 12 choice criterion items, 4 major factors were identified in an exploratory factor analysis. Facility quality was determined to be the most important choice factor for local organizations. Based on the findings, marketing implications and recommendations for future research are provided.
